About Transportation
Vail is located a scenic two-hour drive west of Denver on Interstate 70 and 140 miles east of Grand Junction. Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon, Edwards, and Cordillera are conveniently interconnected by bus service through the Eagle County Regional Transportation System (ECO Transit) as well as taxis.
If you prefer to make your way around the region, navigating the Vail Valley is easy. When driving in the area, you'll encounter an unusual alternative to traffic signals: the roundabouts. When navigating the roundabouts remember these simple rules. Slow down to 15mph as you enter the roundabout, yield to traffic on your left before entering, and be prepared to stop if necessary. Once in the roundabout, do not stop: you have the right of way. If you miss your exit, just go around once more and try again. Remember to use your turn signal as you exit the roundabout.
