Grab a tube, ride a lift to the top of the multi-lane tubing hill and then let your tube whisk you down the hill and do it again - all of the fun of sledding but none of the work. This will keep kids and adults entertained for hours. Tubing is available at Meadow Mountain in Minturn and at Adventure Ridge on Vail Mountain. Sledding has come a long way since the days of the wooden sled with the tracks on the bottom. All the rage in sledding these days is tubing. The sturdy plastic vessels provide comfort and speed! Also long gone are the days of trudging and up a hill, for only a short ride back down. Now you can skip the hard part, with several venues in town offering snow tubing hills complete with lifts. Most hills have several lanes, allowing for multiple sledders to race down the hill simultaneously and more safely than an open field. You cannot bring your own tube to these established tubing hills, as only certain models can be safely attached to the hitch on the lift. Always call ahead, as the tubing hills have set hours of operation, and tubing is weather dependent. Also check for policies on children tubing generally speaking, there is a height and age restriction, and parents usually must accompany young children.
