Many lodges offer tennis courts for the use of their guests and most are equipped for evening play. There are also many public courts available including: the Vail Tennis Center at Ford Park, the Beaver Creek Tennis Club, the Eagle-Vail Tennis Club, the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa and the Vail Racquet Club. The Town of Avon has tennis courts adjacent to Nottingham Park.
Vail offers a variety of options for the tennis enthusiast as well as a first-time racquet-eer. Tennis is an excellent workout at any altitude but prepare for a match on the court in the same way you would prepare for a hike lots of water and shade from the sun. Many hotels offer access to outdoor and indoor courts, and even those that don't have them on-site often have access to auxiliary courts elsewhere, so be sure to ask. If your accommodations don't provide access, call around both recreation facilities and some condo properties will allow you to use their courts for a fee.
