A free guided tour of Vail Village’s public art collection

Enjoy a free guided tour of Vail Village’s public art collection with the Town of Vail’s Art in Public Places Coordinator. Tours meet at 3:30 pm in the Vail Village Information Center located on the top level of the parking structure. The tour lasts approximately an hour and a half concluding at a participating gallery.

Our first stop is the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum, where you will learn about the importance of the 10th Mountain pision and the history of skiing in Colorado. The tour then leads you through the Village with discussions of the master-plan of Vail and the importance of site-integrated art in creating the charm and beauty of the village. Vail's public art collection includes over 37 works ranging from sculptures, murals, playground components, and site-integrated art such as the word puzzles, and rebuses on Vail's Wall Street.

Established in 1984, Art in Public Places has played an important role in adding to the ambience of Vail. As buildings, streets, and public plazas have been reborn, AIPP has injected new life into the everyday experience of the resident and guest as outlined in its strategic plan.

Each tour will end at a participating gallery with an introduction about their collection.
